ANNISTON -- Charles Junior Self, 73, of Anniston, died Saturday, May 14, 1994, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Feb. 6, 1922, at Charleston, son of Charles Watson and Katie Kathryn Misner Self.

He married Nadine Armer, Feb. 7, 1941, at Charleston.

Self lived in Mississippi County all his life. He was the former parks director for the city of Charleston.

He was a member of the Full Gospel Church of East Prairie.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Roger Self of Anniston; three daughters, Joyce Russell of Wyatt, Chyrl Reinbotts of Scott City, Melissa Essary of Anniston; two brothers, Herbert Self and David Self, both of Wyatt; two sisters, Gracie Malone of Anniston, Margaret Self of Sikeston; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with the Rev. Burl Britt officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
