Charles E. Johnson, 67, of Charleston, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1930, in Iuka, Miss. the son of Charles and Clementine Ausbrooks Johnson. On April 20, 1954, he married Ruby Murray.
He was a retired farmer and lived in Missouri for more than 55 years.
Survivors include: his wife, two sons, Charles Ray Johnson of Charleston and Willie Edward Johnson of Aurora, Ill.; four daughters, Celeste Gordon of Topeka, Kan., Clementine Henr, of Bertrand, and Annette and Dora Johnson, both of Charleston; a sister, Annie Lee Handy of Chicago Heights, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
