BLOOMFIELD -- Charles Allen Jennings, 93, of Bloomfield died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997, at Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff. He was born Jan. 5, 1904, in Long Prairie, Ill., son of John Harrison and Sarah Frances Glenn Jennings. He and Freda Hickerson were married Nov. 6, 1930...

BLOOMFIELD -- Charles Allen Jennings, 93, of Bloomfield died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997, at Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

He was born Jan. 5, 1904, in Long Prairie, Ill., son of John Harrison and Sarah Frances Glenn Jennings. He and Freda Hickerson were married Nov. 6, 1930.

Jennings was a retired farmer. He was a charter member and deacon at First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles Jennings of Dittmer, Ray Jennings of Arnold, Larry Jennings of Sherman, Texas; two daughters, Shirley Hutchison of Bloomfield, Brenda Torbet of Sikeston; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a half brother; a stepbrother; and two stepsisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers, a half sister, and two stepsisters.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First General Baptist Church. The Rev. Kevin Eskew will officiate, with burial in Walker Cemetery.
