JONESBORO, Ill. -- Charles R. James Sr., 72, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.
He was born April 14, 1935, in Cottonwood, Ill., son of Harrison "Jimmy" and Velma Stallings James. He and Kay F. McCord were married May 14, 1975, at Crossville, Ill.
James was a member of the Church of God. He was an auto body repairman for Rice Motors in Carmi, Ill.
Survivors include his wife of Jonesboro; three sons, Randy James of Norris City, Ill., Chuck Miller of Carbondale, Ill., Gregory McCord of Jonesboro; two daughters, Kathy Hastings Malone of Elizabethtown, N.C., and Melissa McCord, both of Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
The date of the funeral will be announced later by the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi.
Rendleman and Hileman is in charge of the arrangements.
