NEW HAMBURG, Mo. -- Charles J. Heuring, 84, of New Hamburg died Thursday, June 3, 2004, on the family farm.
He was born Feb. 19, 1920, at Kelso, Mo., son of Lawrence and Clara Gosche Heuring. He and Lucille J. Westrich were married Oct. 26, 1946. She died Jan. 22, 1991.
Heuring was a retired self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and St. Joseph Sodality in New Hamburg, Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran, Mo., and member and past president of North Scott County Association of Retarded Citizens.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include five sons, Norman and Dennis Heuring of New Hamburg, Lawrence Heuring of Kelso, Mo., Gerald Heuring of Buena Vista, Tenn., Charles Heuring of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Dorothy Deason of New Hamburg; two brothers, Elmer Heuring of Kelso, Joe Heuring of New Hamburg; a sister, Lorena Beussink of New Hamburg; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
Friends may call at St. Lawrence Catholic Church after 3 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 6:30, and Knights of Columbus prayers at 6:45.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery with full military rites.
