HOWARDVILLE -- Charles Wesley Hamilton, 59, of Howardville died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, while in Jackson, Mich. He was born Nov. 10, 1938, in New Madrid, son of Willie B. and Ophelia Grant Hamilton. HOWARDVILLE -- Charles Wesley Hamilton, 59, of Howardville died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, while in Jackson, Mich.

He was born Nov. 10, 1938, in New Madrid, son of Willie B. and Ophelia Grant Hamilton.

Hamilton was a graduate of Howardville High School. He was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Hamilton Jr., Timothy and Rodney Hamilton, all of Jackson, Mich.; three daughters, Felicia McCranie and Decole Briston of Jackson, Mich., and Coy Hamilton of Columbia.

Also surviving are three brothers, Robert Hamilton of St. Louis, Depriest Hamilton of Chicago, Willie Hamilton Jr. of Lilbourn; three sisters, Mirdie Gipson and Juanita Hamilton of Howardville, Willa Word of Lilbourn; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, three brothers, and a sister.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive Church, with Elder Nathaniel Green officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.

Friends may call Saturday at the church from noon until service time.

Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Howardville is in charge of arrangements.
