BERNIE -- Charles C. Green, 76, of Bernie died Saturday, July 20, 1996, in Poplar Bluff.

He was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Malden, son of the late William C. and Fredia Harlan Green.

He married Velma Gidcumb on Sept. 13, 1941, at Bloomfield. He was a resident of Bernie and a retired delivery truck driver for Bernie Lumber Co. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Lydia Jane Green of Bernie and Susie Riddle of Dexter; a sister, Anna Belle Ayers of Columbia; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Revs. Joe Masters Jesse Waters officiating.

Burial will be in the Bernie Cemetery.
