JONESBORO - Charles Gibbs, 60, of Flushing, Mich. and formerly of Union County, Ill., died Wednesday, Oct. 21 in Flint, Mich.
He was born May 20, 1932 in Kensett, Ark., the son of Elmer and Lena Brewer Gibbs.
He was married to Phyllis Harrison on April 14, 1959, who preceded him in death.
He was a member of the U.A.W. No. 659.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carla Perkins and Melinda Gibbs, both of Michigan; his mohter, Lena Gibbs of Anna; two brothers, Paul Gibbs of Jonesboro and Eugene Gibbs of Anna; four sister, Mildred Dillow of Anna, Lorene Benedette of Macon, Ga., Mary Richardson of Anna, and Delores Barton of St. Charles; and two grandsons.
Friends may call from noon til the funeral hour Monday at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the VFW Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of Anna.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. the funeral home, with Rev. George Pitts officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery.
