SIKESTON -- Charles Howard David Garrett, 31, of Northwest Street in Sikeston, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, from a gunshot wound in an armed robbery at Kellett Oil Co. Garrett was the attendant on duty.
He was born April 10, 1967, in Chaffee, son of Oscar Raymond and Paula Gaye Toney Garrett of Sikeston.
Garrett had been employed previously as a cook for Bessie's Restaurant in Sikeston.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Charles Howard David Garrett Jr. of Chicago and Michael Raymond Garrett of Benton; three daughters, Brittany Nichole Garrett of Chicago, Megan Renee Cannon and Kelly Ann Cannon, both of Sikeston; four brothers, Oscar Raymond Garrett Jr. of Ramona, Calif., Jim Bill Garrett of Sikeston, Billy Joe Garrett and Bobby Ray Garrett, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five sisters, Sarah Davis Keller of Springhill, Fla., Elizabeth Ann Woodby of St. Petersburg, Patricia Lynn Garrett of Land 'O Lakes, Fla., Mary Rebecca Barnett and Carey Storm Garrett, both of Sikeston.
A sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
