SHAWNEETOWN -- Charles Frederick Eifert, 64, of Shawneetown, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., son of Walter August and Frieda Elizabeth Sanders Eifert. He and Mary Anne Dohogne were married Oct. 21, 1950, in Piggott, Ark.

Eifert was a brakeman with Cotton Belt Railroad 35 years, and farmed in the Shawneetown area 23 years. He was a member, elder and trustee of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown, treasurer of its Men's Club, and member of the railroad union.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles "Sam" Eifert of Shawneetown; two daughters, Patricia Eifert of Shawneetown, Jacqueline Tsikhlakis of Fruitland; two sisters, Virginia Miller of Altenburg, Martha Reeves of Marine, Ill., and six grandchildren.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City, with the Revs. Howard Mueller and Joel Sarrault officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
