OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Charles L. DeLashmutt, 81, of Olive Branch died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Olive Branch, son of Charles and Edna Bledsoe DeLashmutt.
DeLashmutt was a retired carpenter. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, Carpenters Union in Metropolis, member of Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce and had served on its board of directors many years.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah; two daughters, Edna Honey of Tamms, Charlotte Dunning of Urbandale; two sons, Lynn DeLashmutt of Jonesboro, Lowell DeLashmutt of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Bernice Smothers of Vero Beach, Fla.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Thursday. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
