DEXTER -- Funeral service for Charles Dee Sanders of Dexter will be held at 1 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. David Light will officiate, with burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.

Sanders, 56, died Saturday, May 28, 1994, near Essex.

He was born Sept. 4, 1937, near Gray Ridge, son of Elmer and Bessie Irene Purcell Sanders.

Sanders had lived here since 1980. He was a farm laborer, and member of Bell City Apostolic House of Prayer.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Sanders of Whitewater, David Sanders of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sandra Barnes of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Elmer Jr., Doyle, Roy and Donald Sanders of Essex; five sisters, Wilma Alberson, Mildred Williams and Geraldine Duncan of Essex, Anna Sanders of Idalia, Martha DeSmyther of Algonac, Mich., and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.
