PATTON -- Charles D. Sample, 79, of Patton, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1992, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 9, 1912, at Patton, son of David Rudolph and O'Vanda Mae Knowles Sample. He and Mable E. Baker were married May 6, 1939.
Sample was a graduate of General Motors Master Mechanic School, and was in the auto repair business most of his life. He was a member of Patton Presbyterian Church, Trowel Lodge 440 at Marble Hill, Victory Chapter 431 OES, Scottish Rite Cathedral Valley of St. Louis, IOOF at Farmington, Rebekah Lodge at Fredericktown, and Patton Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Sample of Patton, Charles Sample of Athens, Ala.; a daughter, Laura Inman of St. Louis, and six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Patton Presbyterian Church. The Revs. Stanley Mortin and Lori Danielson will officiate, with burial in Patton Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Baker Funeral Home in Marble Hill, and at the church Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
