Charles L. Crawford, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born June 7, 1920, in Delta to Perry and Ida Snider Crawford. He and Kathleen "Katy" Roberts were married March 22, 1942, at Cape Girardeau.
Charlie served in the military police of the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was foreman at Superior Electric for 31 years.
He was very active in the ministry of Red Star Baptist Church, including serving as deacon since 1950. He also served as custodian 29 years. He loved the Lord greatly and was always ready to help anyone in need.
Survivors include two daughters, Carla (Leonard) Sample and Candace Crawford, both of Cape Girardeau; two grandsons, John Sample of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Brian (Bridgid) Sample of Cape Girardeau; and one great-grandson, Charles Sample of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; his brother, James Crawford; and his sister, Jewell Cobb.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
