CHARLES COWELL

PERRYVILLE -- Charles "Chas" Cowell, 42, of Perryville died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.

He was born May 17, 1957, in Red Bud, Ill., son of Warren "Mickey" and Hazel Katherine Barger Cowell. He and Julia Mehrer were married June 3, 1977, in Chester, Ill.

Cowell was a truck driver. Formerly of Chester, he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church there.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dustin and Nicholas Cowell of Perryville; a daughter, Casey Cowell of Perryville; his mother of Peoria, Ariz.; four brothers, Michael and Joseph Cowell of Glendale, Ariz., Daniel Cowell of Chester, John Cowell of Fernley, Nev.; and a sister, Patricia Zamborini of Peoria, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Schroeder-McClure Funeral Home in Chester from 5-8 p.m. today, and Friday from 7:30-10:45 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Dennis Schaefer will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
