MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Charles Leonard Brown, 71, of Marble Hill passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the home of his nephew in Benton, Mo. He was born Nov. 10, 1938, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of Leo and Leona Randall Brown. Brown served in the Army at Fort Lewis, Wash., from November 1961 to November 1963...

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Charles Leonard Brown, 71, of Marble Hill passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the home of his nephew in Benton, Mo.

He was born Nov. 10, 1938, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of Leo and Leona Randall Brown.

Brown served in the Army at Fort Lewis, Wash., from November 1961 to November 1963.

He retired from American Steel in Granite City, Ill.

Survivors include two brothers, Lloyd Brown of Arnold, Mo., and Glen Brown of Jackson.

His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ken Harper officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery, with military honors to be conducted.
