BELL CITY -- Charles D. Bonifield, 89, of Bell City died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1997, at his home. He was born Dec. 26, 1907, near Charleston, son of Charles Marion and Nina Belle Wood. He and Elizabeth Carlisle were married May 8, 1932. Bonifield was a retired farmer. BELL CITY -- Charles D. Bonifield, 89, of Bell City died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1997, at his home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1907, near Charleston, son of Charles Marion and Nina Belle Wood. He and Elizabeth Carlisle were married May 8, 1932.

Bonifield was a retired farmer. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church at Oran, its St. Joseph Sodality, and Knights of Columbus Council 4311.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Alfred Bonifield of Oran, David Bonifield of Montville, N.J.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7 and KC service at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. Lewis Hejna officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
