Charles Francis "Chuck" Baumgartner Jr., 53, of Oak Ridge, formerly of Farmington, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014.

He was born Jan. 1, 1961, in Farmington, to Charles F. and Aline "Peggy" Fraser Baumgartner Sr. Chuck was the first baby born New Year's Day in St. Francois County that year.

Chuck graduated from Farmington High School.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Chuck was a truck driver many years with Buchheit, receiving several awards for safe driving. He was also an avid motorcycle rider. His blended family was a source of love and joy to him.

He was a believer in and a witness to the word of God.

Chuck is survived by his wife and love of his life, Teresa, of Oak Ridge; father Charles F. Baumgartner Sr. of Farmington; two sisters, Tina (Tom) Kile and Marilyn (Silver) Binongial; a brother, Mark (Leslie) Baumgartner; a sister-in-law, Pat Hyde; an aunt, Gene Bay; children, Kim, David, Tim, Elizabeth, Nikki, Sabrina, Bonnie, Troy and Rebecca; grandchildren, Katelyn, Paul, Aiden, Brexin, Michelle, Serenity, Jocelyn, Caleb, Shane and a grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who dearly loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Fraser Baumgartner; an infant sister, Carolyn; dear nephew, Bryan Baumgartner; paternal grandparents, Henry and Katherine Hauck Baumgartner; and maternal grandparents, Guy and Lola Harrington Fraser.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Greg King officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help defray funeral expenses or the Bread of Life Restoration Center in Jackson.
