BERNIE -- Charles Everett Ashby, 92, of Bernie died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.

He was born on Jan. 23, 1906, in Illinois, son of Charles Everett and Sarah Ellen Moger Ashby.

He was a farmer in the Powe and Bernie area until his retirement.

He married Helen Inez McNece on Feb. 17, 1930, at Bloomfield.

Survivors include his wife of the Ridgeview Nursing Center at Malden; a daughter, Glenda Neuhous of Ridgeland, Miss; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie tonight from 5 to 8.

Funeral will be conducted in the Rainey Chapel at Bernie at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The Rev. Dale Hartle of Bernie will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery at Campbell.
