ADVANCE -- Charles A. Hawkins, 90, Advance Route 2, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 16, 1901, at Brownwood, son of Dillard and Minnie Matsel Hawkins. He and Lula Jane Kirk were married Jan 4, 1931, at Marble Hill.

Hawkins was a retired farmer. He was a member of General Baptist Church at Brownwood 48 years, and past deacon and church superintendent.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Hawkins of Advance; a daughter, Bonnie Harmon of St. Louis; three grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Keith Price will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery.
