Champ Green, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born May 15, 1911, near Advance to James A. and Arabella Ragain Green. On Nov. 3, 1934, he married Leona Nothdurft, who died April 6, 1991.
He had worked at Midwest Dairy, Southeast Lumber and retired from Standard Oil Co. after 33 years of service.
He was a 50-year member of Grace United Methodist Church and belonged to St. Mark's Masonic Lodge 93. He had been a past leader in the Boy Scouts and had coached boys church league basketball.
Survivors include two sons, Jim S. Green of Sikeston and William F. Green of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Betty Lou Warren of Terre Du Lac; a brother, William Green of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Juanita Taylor of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A brother and four sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, with Masonic services at 7. Funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
