WILSON CITY -- Celia Mae Woods, 77, of Wilson City died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Dec. 4, 1919, in Greenwood, Miss., daughter of Isiah and Eliza Jones. She married Sandy Woods, who died in 1976.
Woods had lived in Missouri more than 70 years. She was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church in Wyatt, sang in the choir, served on the Missionary Board and Mother's Board. She was also a member of Friendly Sisters and Queen Esther Chapter 33 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Brown Sr. of Florissant, Sandy Woods Jr. of Wilson City; a daughter, Annie Starks of Buffalo, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holly Grove Church, with Pastor T.R. Tyus officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
