RANDLES -- Cedric D. Dooley, 76, of Randles died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at his home.
He was born Dec. 4, 1921, at Micola, the son of R. C. and Madge Holdman Dooley. He and Pearline Moore were married on Sept. 25, 1948, in Piggott, Ark.
Dooley was a flight instructor at Anderson Air Activity in Malden from 1951 - 1961. He crop dusted from 1961 - 1973. He then farmed until 1990 when he retired.
He attained the rank of captain serving as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He received an air medal with three oakleaf of clusters. He also received America's Campaign Medal, the European Theater of Operation Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation. He belonged to the 350th Flight Squadron.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delta where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Dooley of Randles; two daughters, Judy Ann Kight of Cape Girardeau and Sandra Sue Below of Jefferson City; three brothers, Roy Dooley of Delta, Earl Dooley of Chaffee and Ted Dooley of Randles; seven grandchildren, Jim Below II of Advance, Lynn Below of Benton, Tim Below of Cape Girardeau, Kimberly Below of Jefferson City, Andrew Below of Jefferson City, Kris Kight of Farmington and Craig Kight of Benton, Ill.; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Kenny Martin, the Rev. Ron Shrum and the Rev. Glen Golden will officiate, with burial at Forest Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery near Morley.
