KELSO -- Cecilia Loretta Staebel, 90, of Kelso died Saturday, April 15, 1995, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 23, 1904, in East St. Louis, Ill., the daughter of James and Margaret Kerr Teahan. She married Phillip John Staebel on Aug. 8, 1939, in East St. Louis. He preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1947...

KELSO -- Cecilia Loretta Staebel, 90, of Kelso died Saturday, April 15, 1995, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 23, 1904, in East St. Louis, Ill., the daughter of James and Margaret Kerr Teahan. She married Phillip John Staebel on Aug. 8, 1939, in East St. Louis. He preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1947.

Staebel had been a housekeeper and cook for the St. Liborious Parish priest. She lived in Kelso for 55 years and was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality. She was a volunteer at the Scott City Senior Citizens Center and for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Whittaker of Kelso, Rosemary M. Meek of Nashville, Tenn., and Clara Martin of Edwardsville, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Church in Kelso with the Rev. James Seyer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Augustine Cemetery.
