VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Cecil E. Pfaff, 72, of Villa Ridge died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Cecil was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Dongola, Ill., son of the late Frederick Carl Pfaff and Susie Goins Pfaff.
Cecil attended the Mounds Church of Christ, was a member of the Olmsted, Ill., Fire Department, Olmsted Lions Club and a band member of the K & I Drifters known throughout Southern Illinois. Cecil retired after 18 years as a maintenance employee for the village of Olmsted.
On Feb. 16, 1963, in Wetaug, Ill., Cecil married Carolyn Sue Mize, and she survives of Villa Ridge.
Cecil is also survived by a son, Rodney (Missy) Pfaff; a daughter, Amy (Dale) Kerr, three grandsons, Dustin Kerr, Nathan Pfaff and Cody Kerr; his mother-in-law, Blanche Mize, all of Villa Ridge; two brothers, Carl Pfaff of Olmsted and Wendell Pfaff of Ringold, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Bennett; and sisters Margaret Haffley and Nellie Ferguson.
Memorial services for Cecil E. Pfaff will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Ronnie Gulley officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Pulaski, Ill.
