GIDEON, Mo. -- Beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother and MeeMaw, Cathy Roseann Brock passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at her childhood home surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 12, 1950, to C.L. "Dobie" and Evelyn Bernice Finney in Gideon.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology, graduate degree in counseling and doctorate in counseling at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She devoted her professional career to helping others.
Matthew Dale (Sharon) Wiseman, Michelle Ann (Tom) Kilburn, Mark Jonathan Wiseman and Melissa Lynn (Michael) Clayton are honored to call her mother. Cathy treasured her family and was adored by her five grandchildren, Nora Rose Kilburn, Tanner Jacob Clayton, Eva Lynn Kilburn, Brock Thomas-Michael Kilburn and Willow Catherine Grace Clayton.
Her sister, Hettie Lynn Brock, shared her passion for family and was her devoted companion and cherished caregiver. Stormi Elizabeth Williams, niece, and Khloe Lynn Robinett, grandniece, also survive.
Her legacy of family, strength and love is everlasting. Her loving family will be eternally grateful for every precious memory and will forever be proud to call her the best MeeMaw, mother and sister anyone could ever hope for.
Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, father and youngest sister, Lori Ann Brock Williams.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veterans of America.
