CATHRYN E. CARDEN

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Cathryn E. Carden of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Pastors Ted Wimberley and Aubrey Wilson will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Carden, 81, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 1995, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 28, 1914, in Dorena, daughter of Marion and Joella Byassee Dick. She and Cage V. Carden were married March 21, 1932, in Cairo, Ill. He died Feb. 9, 1962.

Carden retired as a cook with East Prairie R-2 School District. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Dickie Carden of Avondale, Ariz.; a brother, Shelby Dick of East Prairie; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister.
