Kathryn E. Braasch, 62, of 2524 Marvin in Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
SHe was born Nov. 16, 1931, at Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Paul and Golda Sharp Garrett. On Aug. 2, 1953, she married Norman Braasch in Lincoln.
She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in June 1953 with a degree in political science, and then taught in the public schools at York, Neb. She had been a resident of Cape Girardeau since 1963 and worked as secretary for the Southeast Missouri State University Faculty Senate for several years.
She also was a member of the Cape Girardeau County League of Women Voters since 1965, and was the league's president from 1969-1973 and served on the board of directors for the Missouri League of Women Voters from 1973-1977. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by her husband, Norman of Cape Girardeau, and a daughter, Ann Zeimpfer of St. Louis.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Louis Launhardt will officiate, and friends may call from 6 p.m. until the time of the service.
