Catherine Young

Catherine Young, daughter of the late John and Martha Snouwaert Pearl, was born Feb. 7, 1936, in Attica, Indiana, and departed her life Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 87 years.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, Missouri.

On Oct. 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to Morris D. Young in Attica. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, John Young of Benton and Michael (Lisa) Young of Cleveland, Missouri; daughter, Cathy (Tom) Blattel of New Hamburg, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, Catherine was preceded in death by two sons, David and Steve Young; three brothers, Gerald, Jack and Tom Pearl; and five sisters, Helen Haddock, Jean Brickler, Norma Pearl, Pat Pearl and Margaret Leath.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, with the Rev. Daniel Belken officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Morley, Missouri.
