DEXTER, Mo. -- Catherine Taylor, 89, of Dexter died Friday, April 9, 2004, at her home.
She was born Nov. 14, 1914, at Parma, Mo., daughter of Charles Sylvester and Jesse Pearl Jones Blackman. She and William "Howard" Taylor were married Nov. 20, 1941, at Dexter. He preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1991.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of Dexter Evangelical Free Church and active in Dexter Civic Club.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Philip and Helen Taylor of Cape Girardeau; a daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Darrel Pyle of Dexter; six grandchildren, Hilary, Taylor and Caitlin Pyle, all of Dexter, Sally Powell, Bonnie and Jennifer Taylor, all of Columbia, Mo.; and two great-granddaughters, Hannah and Sarah Powell of Columbia.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Leist officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Stoddard County Children's Home or Dexter Public Library.
