Catherine Virginia "Katy" Poole McConnell, 77, of Clarence, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1925, near Emden, Mo., daughter of Adelbert Lee and Susie Gertrude Calvert Wood. She and Robert Marvin Poole were married Dec. 20, 1953. He died Oct. 18, 1961. She later married Leon "Pete" McConnell Aug. 16, 1969. He died March 6, 1999.
McConnell was a 1943 graduate of Shelbina High School. She held various office jobs, and retired as a ward clerk from Samaritan Hospital in Macon, Mo., in 1984. She was a member of Prairie View Baptist Church near Emden, and attended Clarence Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Lee Poole of Cape Girardeau; a son, Robert Poole of Pittsburg, Kan.; a sister, Geraldine Lackey of Shelbina; and a brother, Leonard Wood of Monroe City, Mo.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Clarence Christian Church.
A memorial service will follow immediately, with David Johnson officiating.
Cater Funeral Home at Moberly, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
