CHARLESTON -- Funeral for Catherine Jane Farmer of Charleston will be held at 11 a.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Rick White will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery.
Farmer, 80, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at her home.
She was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Charleston, daughter of A.D. and Mary Lynch Simpson. She and Jesse R. Farmer were married Dec. 28, 1947.
Farmer was a graduate of Charleston High School, attended Central Methodist College in Fayetteville, and attended business school in Bowling Green, Ky. She was a member of United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, James Farmer of Ridgeland, Miss.; a daughter, Mary Bush of Southaven, Miss.; a sister, Leta Morris of Hopkinsville, Ky.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
