Catherine "Cathy" Wunderlich Clippard, 74, of Cape Girardeau entered into her eternal home Monday, May 23, 2016.

She was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Tilsit to Hugo Paul and Evelyn K. Torrence Wunderlich. She and Frank Clippard were married July 29, 1960, at Dupo, Illinois.

Cathy was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.

For more than 20 years, she worked for Cape Girardeau's leading pediatrician, Dr. James Kinder, taking care of the needs of children. She often said Dr. Kinder thanked her every day at the end of the day for her work.

She was born and baptized in the Lutheran faith and remained a strong Christian throughout her life.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Clippard of Cape Girardeau; son John Clippard of Cape Girardeau; daughters Lori (Fara McDonald) Clippard of Cape Girardeau and Shelly (Tom) Gaffigan of Knoxville, Tennessee; brothers Jim (Judy) Wunderlich of Jackson, Don (Doris) Wunderlich of Cape Girardeau, Darrel (Charlotte) Wunderlich of Kentucky and Max Wilson of Jackson; grandchildren Ryan, Allison and Kendra Cagle and Logan and Abbie Clippard; and great-grandchild Braedyn McElhaney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Kenneth and Robert Wunderlich; sister Mildred Overbeck; and grandson J.D. Clippard.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family.

The family would like to thank Saint Francis Medical Center and its wonderful medical staff during the illness and care of their beloved Cathy.
