SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Carroll Clayton Castleberry, 96, of Scott City died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 18, 1904, in Romance, Ark., son of Clayton Carroll and Ann King Castleberry.
Castleberry was a bus driver 45 years with Bi-State Bus Lines in St. Louis, retiring in 1970.
He was a member of Amalgamated Transit Union 788 in St. Louis; Shrine Club; Masonic Lodge 460 AF&AM in Crestwood; and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Survivors include four brothers, J.D. "Pete" Castleberry of Sikeston, Mo.; Wendell "Red" Castleberry of Benkelman, Neb., Gerald Castleberry of Winston-Salem, N.C., Charles "Lindy" Castleberry of Bertrand, Mo.; two sisters, Mildred Hamilton of Davenport, Iowa, and Josie Yant of Oran, Mo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with Msgr. William Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
