NEW MADRID -- Carrie Mae Winters, 44, of New Madrid died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at her home.
She was born March 19, 1954, in Lilbourn, daughter of Eddie and Savannah Owens Blair.
She graduated from Lilbourn High School in 1972 and was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn.
She is survived by a son, Dale W.J. Winters of Newllano, La.; four daughters, Fanika L. Blair of Sikeston, Tantra R., Jammel S. and Alexis B. Winters, all of New Madrid; two brothers, Edward L. Blair of Huntsville, Ala., and Thomas Blair of Lake Providence, La.; six sisters, Deella Keys and Geraldine Griffin, both of Chicago, Eddie Mae McWilliams of Gary, Ind., Shirley Nicholson of St. Louis, Mamie Blair and Jeannette Blair, both of Lilbourne; six grandchildren; and a special friend, Jerry Ross.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from noon to 2 Saturday at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Charles McWilliams Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid. The Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home of Howardville is in charge of arrangements.
