SUN CITY, Ariz. -- Carolyn Ingersoll Wright of Sun City passed away peacefully June 21, 2015, attended by caring family members.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, William S. "Bill" Wright, and a younger sister, Esther Jean Duke of Taft, California.
Carolyn was born Dec. 23, 1926, in Waynetown, Indiana, to Ray and Ruth Ingersoll. When she was a child, Carolyn and her family moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana, where she grew to be a vivacious young lady who graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1944. She graduated from MacMurray College for Women in 1948 with a degree and accreditation as a registered dietitian.
She married the true love of her life, Bill Wright, in a double wedding June 20, 1948, with her sister, Esther, and Jack Duke. After marriage, she and Bill lived in Missouri and North Carolina, where she practiced as a clinical and consulting dietitian 38 years.
Along the way, they raised daughters Julianne and Suzanne, as well as son William Kimberly. Throughout their years of marriage, Carolyn and Bill enjoyed playing competitive bridge and golf. They also traveled extensively, especially after they retired and moved to Mesa, Arizona, in 1986. They moved to Sun City in 2003 to spend more time with nearby family members.
Carolyn is survived by three children, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery in Crawfordsville at a private family gathering.
