Funeral service for Carolyn Ann Smith of Charleston, Ill., formerly of Cape Girardeau, was held Saturday at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur, Ill. Pastor Dave Brown officiated, with burial in Gracelend Cemetery at Decatur.
Smith, 42, died Thursday, April 2, 1992, in an automobile accident in Coles County, Ill.
She was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Decatur, daughter of Robert and Lois Whitacre Hadley. She married Cliff Smith in 1967.
Smith was a teller at Charleston Community Bank, and member of First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Gray of St. Charles, Christy Smith of Charleston, Ill.; her mother of Decatur; three brothers, Eric Hadley of Niantic, Ill., Robert Hadley of Effingham, Ill., Brian Hadley of Decatur; three sisters, Teresa Hockada of Bethany, Ill., Karen West of Decatur, Suzanne Preece of Rantoul, Ill., and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
