Carolyn Klueppel

FENTON, Mo. — Carolyn Klueppel, 78, of Fenton passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

She was born to the late George "Dewey" and Eileen Hinton on March 10, 1944, in Cape Girardeau. Carolyn graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1961. While in high school, she worked at Sunny Hill Dairy, which is where she met her husband.

Carolyn married the late Frank Klueppel Jr. in 1963. They opened Plaza Gifts and Office Supplies in 1965 and were in business 26 years. She also worked at K's Merchandise. Carolyn enjoyed genealogy, spending time with family and collecting Hallmark ornaments and Precious Moments figurines.

She is survived by her three children, Jim Klueppel of Pacific, Missouri, Christy (John) Wagoner of Fenton and Cathy (Mike) Best of Mesa, Arizona. She is also survived by her brothers, Gerald, Henry, Michael and Terry Hinton, as well as two sisters, Nancy Irvine and Marsha Hinton. Carolyn has five grandchildren, Abby and Lydia Dohogne, Taylor and Payton Wagoner and James Klueppel.

Her brothers, Benny, Nelson and Ralph Hinton, preceded her in death.

A celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau.
