CAIRO -- Carole Sue Conroy, 46, of Cairo, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1992, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas.
She taught English at Cairo High School for 23 years. She also sponsored the cheerleaders and coached the girls softball team.
A graduate of Murray State University with a B.S. degree, she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Conroy of Cairo; her father and stepmother, Howard and Chris Upshaw of Cairo; her mother, Willie Wisecup of San Antonio, Texas; her stepmother, Julie Fiveash of Longview; her brother, Ron Upshaw of Marion, Ill; her half-brother, Bobby Upshaw, a stepsister, Joyce Watson and a stepbrother, Kenny Dunaway, all of Longview.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cairo with the Rev. Fr. Jerome Fortenberry and Larry L. Potts officiating.
Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
