WARRENSBURG — Carole Marlene Del Vecchio, 72, of Warrensburg passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.

She was born Sept. 28, 1951, in St. Louis, daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Boyer Meier. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a master’s degree in education.

Carole was united in marriage to Stephen C. Del Vecchio on June 2, 1973, in Cape Girardeau. Residing in Cape Girardeau, she taught high school math in the Cape Girardeau and Oak Ridge school districts before retiring in 2004. The couple moved to Warrensburg in 2005, where Carole taught at Crest Ridge School until 2015.

Carole was an avid reader and art lover. She enjoyed puzzles, math jokes and brain teasers. She was an innovative teacher and lifelong learner. Her legacy will remain with the people she taught to be brilliant, much like herself.

Carole is survived by her husband, Steve Del Vecchio; daughters, Elizabeth Del Vecchio and Kari Del Vecchio; grandchild, Taylor Del Vecchio; sister, Karen Kiser, and her husband, Jay; and nieces, Cindy and Jessie.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg. Visitation to be held 30 minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crest Ridge School District in care of the funeral home.
