MOUNDS, Ill. -- Carol Jean Purdiman, 48, of Mounds died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, in Chicago.
She was born Jan. 15, 1953, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of Maurice Houston Jr. and Barbara Young.
Purdiman was a member of the Church of God in Son in Hodges Park, Ill.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Purdiman; two daughters, Tameka and Fedorra Purdiman of the home; three sons, Javier Purdiman of Mound City, Ill., Kyrek Purdiman of the home, Demarse Rigney of Decatur, Ill.; and her father, Maurice Houston Sr. of Chicago.
Also surviving are four sisters, Gina Houston of Chicago, Wilma Houston and Marilyn Terry of Mounds, Florence Blake of Pulaski, Ill.; five brothers, Derrell Houston of Mounds, Ronnie Houston of Mound City, Peddie and Maurice Houston Jr. of Pulaski, Maurice Houston III of Chicago; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, her mother, and grandparents.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Praise and Worship Center in Pulaski. The Revs. Larry Barnett and J.L. Posey will officiate. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Memorial Park in Mounds.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.
Massie Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
