MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Carol Gertrude Barks Lincoln, 63, of Marble Hill passed away peacefully Saturday, April 16, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 9, 1959, to John "Lowell" and Oma Laverne Gattis Simmons Barks in Kennett, Missouri. For the past 46 years Carol was a loving wife to her husband, Timothy Dwight "Tim" Lincoln, and together they had two daughters, Angela Marie and Jessica Gwen.
Carol gave her life to Jesus Christ and was baptized in His Name at the age of 18. She faithfully attended Westside Church of Christ in Jackson. She embraced God's Word and enjoyed studying Bible prophecy.
Being named after her grandmother, Maggie Gertrude Ramsey Barks, was an honor for Carol.
Throughout her life, she worked at Thorngate Ltd. in Cape Girardeau, cleaned houses in the Jackson area, and managed her husband's business, Timber-Link Construction.
However, her favorite job was being a homemaker. She created a beautiful home for her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters and a dedicated wife, a true "help-meet," to her husband, Tim. Carol enjoyed her grandchildren and attended many of their sporting events.
From pencil sketches to embroidery, to catchy phrases, scrap-booking and handmade cards, Carol was always blessing others with her artistic abilities. She was an excellent cook and was known for her chicken and dumplings, baked beans and cherry breeze pie. She hosted large gatherings and was an inspiration to many outside her immediate family, including nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She will be truly missed.
Preceding Carol in death were her parents, Lowell and Oma Barks, and siblings, Evalene Collins, Jimmy Simmons, Francis Nations and Wilma Hovis.
Survivors include her husband, Tim; daughters, Angela Lincoln of Marble Hill and Jessica (Chad) Lutes of Silva, Missouri; grandchildren, Neil (Torie) Johnson of Advance, Missouri; Landon (Savannah) of Jackson and Rafe, Reagan, Glory and Tallie Johnson, all of Marble Hill; great-grandsons, Tyson Johnson of Advance and Ari Johnson of Jackson; siblings, Gene (Diane) Barks of Brighton, Illinois; Earlene Lunsford of Jackson; Glen (Sheila) Simmons of Marble Hill; and Roy Simmons of Illinois; and sisters-in-law, Pam Arnold of Chaffee, Missouri, and Andrea (Mike) Wendel of Jackson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Brother Gus Wischmann officiating. Interment will follow in Cook Cemetery near Scopus, Missouri.
