PULASKI, Ill. -- Carol Lee Stringer, 68, of Pulaski, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Nov. 29, 1926, in Ullin, daughter of Charles Arvel and Ina Mae Crippen Sowers. She married Carl Edward Stringer, who died April 24, 1992.
The Stringers owned and operated Dixie Drive Inn Restaurant in Pulaski 15 years. She was a member of Pulaski Christian Church, member and secretary of the Ladies Aid of the church; member of Pulaski Homemakers Extension, member and treasurer of VFW Auxiliary 8891 in Mounds, and member and treasurer of American Cancer Society memorial program in Pulaski County.
Survivors include a son, Mike Stringer of Pulaski; a daughter, Nancy Lance of Olmsted; four sisters, Bernice Rudolph, Jean Price and Alta Taylor of Mounds, Sarah Gordan of Lake Station, Ind.; a brother, Charles Sowers of Mounds, and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Pulaski Christian Church after 4 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with William Winters officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
