EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Funeral for Carnell Tripp of East Prairie will be held at 11 a.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Martin Lucas will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Tripp, 77, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 8, 1923, in Waverly, Tenn., son of Joe and Hattie Newberry Tripp. He and Beatrice Kerby were married May 11, 1944, in East Prairie.
Tripp lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was employed by city of East Prairie Water and Sewer Department 17 years.
Survivors include a son, Roger Tripp of Sikeston, Mo.; five daughters, Deloris Gibson of Garden Prairie, Ill., Deloma Parton of Mount Washington, Ky., Linda Loomas, Bonnie Wallace and Pam Bisher of East Prairie; four brothers, J.T., O.T., and Frank Tripp of Rockford, Ill., Clyde Tripp of Lafayette, Ind.; a sister, Juanita Porter of Rockford; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two sisters, and a brother.
