Carlton Crain, 72, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 6, 1931, at Oak Ridge, son of Ellis and Irene Hopkins Crain. He and Ann Dumey were married July 5, 1955, in Cape Girardeau.
Carlton owned and operated Crain Auto Parts Sales 30 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church, Excelsior Masonic Lodge 441, Elks Lodge, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, all in Jackson, and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Vicki Crain of Rolla, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Karla and James R. Dodd of Montgomery, Ala.; a brother, Clemon Crain of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, Joseph and Mackenzie "Mac" Crain of Rolla, and Sean Dodd of Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery, with a military honor guard service and a service by VFW Post 3838.
