Carla Jo Wills, 83, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at her home. She was born Oct. 9, 1938, in Charleston, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha Thompson Harvey. Carla Jo Wills, 83, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at her home.

She was born Oct. 9, 1938, in Charleston, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha Thompson Harvey.

Carla married Billy Don "Bill" Wills on April 15, 1960. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary this past Friday.

Carla was an educator and received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Education from Southeast Missouri State University. She retired as a school teacher from East Prairie R2 and Charleston R1 school districts where she taught music and special needs children.

Carla loved playing and teaching piano as well as singing inspirational songs. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her, especially her friend and care taker, Sherry Patrick.

Carla is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Billy Don Wills; daughter, Amy Elizabeth (Chris) Graham of Cape Girardeau; and a son Christopher Allen (Barbara) Wills of Bettendorf, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Sandra (the late David Wayne) Harvey of Huntsville, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her older brother, James Allen (Sandy) Harvey and younger brother, David Wayne Harvey.

Visitation will be from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Charleston.

Memorials in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
