SIKESTON, Mo. — Carl E. Todt Sr., 81, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 15, 1927, in Raymond, Ill., to the late John and Bertha Hoehn Todt.

Carl moved to the Morley area in 1936, graduating from Morley High School in 1945.

He was a dairy and crop farmer all his life. He also worked as a DHIA area supervisor more than 25 years. He was a member of Guardian Angel Parish, St. Joseph Sodality and Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran, Mo.

He was a past president of Scott County Missouri Farm Bureau Board. He served on the Dairyman Inc. Board as well as the Scott County Central School Board.

He and Kathryn Ann Dumey were married June 24, 1952.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Beth Todt of Columbia, S.C., Susan Kay and Mark Howard of Jackson; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl Jr. "Eddie" and Angela Todt of Sikeston; three grandchildren, Stephanie and Tyler Howard and Hannah Pfaff; two sisters, Geraldine Lewis of Sikeston, Theresa Schlitt of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three brothers, Cletus Todt of Cape Girardeau, Sylvester and Robert Todt of Oran.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon and Darlene Todt; a sister, Regina Anderson; and two brothers, Herman and Harold Todt.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Guardian Angel Catholic Church.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Guardian Angel School.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran is in charge of arrangements.
