ADVANCE, Mo. -- Carl Gene Strobel Sr., 69, of Advance died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1936, in Advance, son of Henry and Hazel White Strobel. He and Lula Belle Robinson were married in 1952 in Tunica, Miss.
Strobel was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Advance and Eagles Aerie of Advance.
He is survived by a son, Shane Strobel of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters, Teressa (John) Norden of Sikeston, Sheila Hargrove of Hemphill, Texas; an uncle, Charles "Junior" White of Advance; four grandchildren, Stephen Strobel of Columbia, Mo., Emily Strobel of Sikeston, Chad West of Missouri, April West of Perryville, Mo.; several great-grandchildren; and a loving dog, Cupcake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Carl Gene Strobel Jr. and Danny Lee Strobel, and a brother, Dallas Strobel.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating.
