Carl King, 83, of Scott City passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 22, 1933, at Mineral Point, Missouri, the son of Theodore and Nellie Day King. He married Janice Lewis on July 10, 1953, in Richwoods, Missouri. She preceded him in death Dec. 21, 1997. He married Charlotte Amos on Feb. 7, 2012, in Benton, Missouri, and she survives.
Carl worked as a forklift operator for Wetterau Foods in Scott City. He served in the U.S. Army and later the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; two sons, Gary King (Yvonne Parker) of Scott City and Dennis (Lisa) King of Union, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Miller of Scott City; a sister, Linda Charbonaue of Richwoods; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Malissa Mier, on Aug. 30, 2011.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at chapel, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
