VANDUSER -- Carl F. Gunter, 87, of Vanduser died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at his home.
He was born Jan. 13, 1910, at Sikeston, son of James Henry and Mayme L. Wood Gunter.
He was retired as an auto mechanic with Peffmerman Motor Co. in Overland.
He moved from St. Charles to Vanduser in 1972. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vanduser.
He married Nina Velma Graviett Couts on Aug. 28, 1938.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a stepson, Bobby J. Couts of St. Peters; a sister, Catherine DuKes of Shawnee, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and some great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Billie Fair will officiate, with burial in the Friend Cemetery at Oran.
